I have been proud as an Ontarian to have the Endangered Species act, though it's not perfect, it is good. I have personally worked at construction sites and projects that risk the lives of endangered species and saw how these projects can be done well. Without the act as it was, I would expect that the care and planning that went into the project wouldn't have had the time it needed to exist and would have resulted in more environmental damages.
Doing things quickly doesn't mean they are better, so many mistakes have been made in the past, having acts that slow the process (even though they can be cumbersome) lead to projects that have had the time to be more considerate of their context and ultimately more economically effective in the long run since they are better for the places that are being built in.
Please don't claim that this'll unleash our economy, we need choices that'll strength our ability to retain a strong economy in the long-run, THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO THAT!
