I am completely against Bill 5. It is clearly designed to favour the corporate desires of developers at the expense of appropriate public consultation and without consideration for the environmental impacts. It is crucial that we continue to uphold all parts of the Environmental Bill of Rights and protect the environment, especially as the climate crisis escalates. My father worked his entire career for Environment Canada as a wildlife biologist, with a focus on conservation biology. I was raised to have the utmost respect and appreciation for this land and the habitats of vulnerable wildlife, and to be mindful of our own human impact on nature. The very *least* we should do is continue to require that developers seek public feedback and to measure potential impacts on local environment.
