It is important for any government to consider the environment we live in. Taking it for granted, allowing laws to demonstrate a value for money and economic gain over the land that feeds us and cleans the air we breathe is ignorant and self-destructive. Bill 5 ignores how easy it is to disregard the consequences of our actions. We need our government to create solutions to problems we’ve known about, not backtrack on the progress made in one area (like land and species conservation efforts or collaboration efforts with First Nations) in order to benefit the economy.
