I am extremely against this proposal. I believe it is detrimental to the recently recovered cormorant population (which is native and important part of the ecosystem), but I also know that the effects of this proposal would have resounding and irreversible effects on other wildlife, from the birds they nest amongst (Great egrets, Great blue herons, Black crowned night herons) to the other wildlife in the vicinity. This is a wholesale slaughter of a maligned species with absolutely no scientific backing or justification, this is just an excuse to try and eradicate a species for nothing but political gain.
