Special economic zones are an unacceptable concept.

These zones would bypass the right of Indigenous peoples to consultation and free, prior, and informed consent.

This act would also violate the environmental bill of rights, as it would bypass the right of the community to comment on and be consulted on environmentally significant decision making.

There are also dozens of other factors making this act absolutely unacceptable. Archeology, environmental protection, and health and safety laws are not “red tape”.

Provincial laws exist to protect people. Bypassing these laws is not protecting Ontario, it’s putting Ontario at massive risk.
