Within the span of about a week, a couple of weeks ago I saw two interviews: one with Doug Ford and one with Donald Trump. Both of them were saying the same thing, which was something like, "What's with these crazy / woke / radidal left judges, can't they just get on with their jobs and ignore what i'm doing???.. I've been democratically elected and so I get to do whatever I think needs to get done!"
The answer - these judges are there and calling them on stuff because that IS their job. The politicians don't have to like it, but they do have to listen.
No-one is above the law.
Special economic zones are proposing just that... to put certain people and businesses above the law, at the whim of politicians. It's not right.
I stand with the relevant comments from CELA (link below). I also worry about companies saving their shareholders money by hiring whoever, and bypassing transparency, including Indigenous consultation requirements. I have linked some articles that better explain these concepts too.
