The language and intent of these proposed changes seems clear. The government, a group of people who are not experts about the conservation of endangered and at risk species, seeks to remove encumbrances to “economic growth “. Once again, human stupidity and greed contributing to human demise. When will we understand that when we harm the animals and plants around us we harm ourselves and risk furthering the detrimental effects of those harms for years to come? This proposed change is unconscionable. Strengthen protections. Do not give elected representatives carte blanche to add or remove species to the list as they see fit. Include more scientific oversight to protect our environment and its inhabitants. Find other better ways to protect nature from human interference and harassment. Ensure more protected green spaces. Find other ways to enhance the economy, not at the expense of our wildlife and natural environment. Please.
