This is horrifying. Ontario already treats endangered species like an inconvenience and developers already are allowed to ignore them. Don’t remove the very little protections they have. These rules were put in place because it is a fact that their numbers have declined directly as a result of the poorly planned and unthinking overdevelopment of this province. At a time when our environment is in crisis. Instead of stepping forward the Ford government proposes reverting things to the 1960s, just to line the pockets of developers who destroy everything beautiful and special about Ontario. This is criminal.
The changes that need to be made are internal to enable civil servants to do their jobs more efficiently by actually hiring and filling vacant positions, updating their internal processes and giving them the technology they need.
