These proposed changes are an assault of what makes Ontario a desirable place to live. We should be enhancing the laws to protect forests, wetlands, farmlands, wildlife and biodiversity, not gutting them. It is appalling what Ford's government is doing to our province by ignoring the science and democratic norms and giving all the power to the rich and powerful in the guise of addressing economic issues.
This seems like a page out of what Trump is doing in the US by dismantling democracy and its institutions. For a premier that said Trump was an assault on Ontario/Canada the hypocrisy of what the Ford government is not lost on the people of Ontario.
Enough is enough.
