I am a young Ontarian who recently excercised the right to vote for the first time. I voted for my future in protecting the environment at all costs, as there continues to be more and more alarming evidence that we are having the hottest years on record year over year. Some of the acts contained in this bill are crucial to the environmental safekeeping of our province, and without them, we are letting businesses and corporations do whatever they please with our province with no repercussions. This is unacceptable management of the province and it’s environment, especially since 60% of the province did not vote for this government, and for the people these changes will impact that most, that number was even higher. Young people should not have to pay the life threatening consequences that are imposed by a greedy government framing this bill as “Restoring Ontario’s Competitiveness”; it should rather be “Stripping Away All Environmental Regulation”.
