I strongly oppose the Ontario government’s proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. Weakening protections for at-risk species and their habitats in the name of development undermines the purpose of the Act. These changes prioritize short-term economic gain over long-term environmental sustainability and biodiversity. Ontario has a responsibility to protect its natural heritage, not destroy it. We need stronger, science-based protections for endangered species, not policies that make it easier to eliminate their habitats.
