I oppose Bill 5. I want stronger environmental protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.
I think the Endangered Species Act (2007) is important and should not be repealed. I do not want developers to be able to ignore municipal and provincial laws like environmental rules, safety standards, and local planning bylaws. Bill 5 would violate promises made to Indigenous peoples to protect the environment and would silence their voices in decision making.
