Every time the Fords eye the Greenbelt, a shudder of revulsion races down my spine. This time is no different. Local ecosystems have already suffered so much that wildlife are fleeing into residential areas for lack of resources and territories. Do not allow the devastation of one of our few resources for the benefit of the few developers who will do naught but create dwellings for slumlords to own to live in or to rent.
The protected areas that Ontario has should be protected, not exploited. It should be grown, not diminished. Allowing unrestricted development shows nothing but a callous lack of forethought and an unexceptional greed for short-sighted profit. This is not a government that deserves relection.
