As a member of the Mississauga Lakeshore riding and concerned citizen, I would like to voice by concern for the wellbeing of Ontario farmers, ecological services and the future of Ontario's local food sustainability. Being that we are placed on prime agricultural land in Southern Ontario, it is my responsibility to show my concern for preserving crucial land that is growing much-needed food products. Agriculture and food sovereignty play crucial roles in the economic and cultural upkeep of Southern Ontario, and losing prime agricultural land to further development of subdivisions would be a dis-service to the fate of our province. I urge the provincial government to listen to the needs of the people and not approve this bill to allow developers pave over agricultural land that is precious to the maintenance of Ontario's economic and cultural future.
