As a young mom raising my children in this community, I’m very concerned about the decision to remove the Environmental Assessment for the Dresden landfill. Our kids deserve clean air, safe water, and a healthy environment to grow up in. Skipping the EA means skipping the science and safeguards that are there to protect our families, especially those in nearby First Nations communities who have already faced generations of environmental harm.
This landfill will have long-term impacts, and we owe it to future generations to do things the right way. Indigenous communities must be properly consulted and respected, not sidelined. Protecting the land and water is not just a legal responsibility, it’s a moral one. It is important for you to reinstate the Environmental Assessment and put people and the planet before profit.
