As a multiply disabled Ontarian, I find the implications of this bill in terms of occupational health and safety, environmental regulations, and accessibility regulations to be very disturbing. Giving businesses the capacity to not follow such critical regulations to be a very dangerous precedent.
I do not want to facilitate businesses abusing the environment, including not having to consult local indigenous people before starting work, on the pretence that this sort of negligence protects the economy. Furthermore, I don’t see protecting the economy at the expense of the environment and safety regulations.
This does not benefit Ontarians, it is clearly just a money grab by Doug Ford for his cronies, at the expense of Ontarians, and the environment.
