As a lifelong resident of Ontario, I find this act shameful. I understand the need for affordable housing and improved infrastructure as someone who lives in in the GTA and barely makes enough to cover living expenses. But this act is the completely wrong way to go about mitigating these problems. At a time when unemployment is expected to arise, this act would gut jobs for those in the environmental and heritage sectors. While housing is important, so is preserving the natural history and landscape of Ontario that makes it 'Ontario.' If this act goes through, while developers and the government benefit, we are ruining our future and failing to preserve our past. As an Ontarian I feel this act gives the government the power to steamroll the opinions and beliefs of its constituents which is exactly the opposite of what they should be doing and I find this act to be a gross misuse of power and will only benefit those who profit off of desperate people looking for homes that they can barely afford. PLEASE DO NOT PASS THIS!
