The proposed lot enlargement of this land is quite upsetting and I hope does not get approved. For over 25 years myself and many others have been using these lands, trails, and water access points for hikes, blueberry picking, swimming, and active engagement and enjoyment of the natural beauty of the land itself. The proposed lot would cut all this off, and the severance would disrupt established land use patterns and is incompatible with neighboring uses. As well there is inadequate service or access to this land, there is no suitable road access. The development and acquisition of this land would greatly disrupt the comradery of the community, not to mention possibly destroy the natural environment.
It would appear that this is an extremely selfish request, with no respect to the history and memories that have been created and a complete disregard for the future enjoyment and preservation of the land itself. In the spirit of reconciliation, I also find this proposal offensive as I doubt this follows the calls to action from the truth and reconciliation act to "Commit to meaningful consultation, building respectful relationships, and obtaining the free, prior, and informed consent of Indigenous peoples before proceeding with economic development projects."
This proposal only has negative effects on the surrounding land and community in my opinion. Please consider my concerns of this proposal seriously , thank you for your consideration.
