Established land Use Patterns will be obstructed and shattered if this proposal is accepted.
This property has long been held in a co-op that promoted, encouraged community gatherings, use of the land for hikes, blueberry picking and exploring with young children, which we called going on adventures. The division of this property would most certainly have a detrimental effect on keeping nature preserved and enjoyed respectfully.
This land has been designated and marked for hiking and biking. There are four paths marked clearly.
Our community has a short road, so we often hike in the "bush". As our community ages, it is wonderful to have clearly marked paths. Sunsets, beaver watching and quietly observing a loon on her nest are sights enjoyed by hikers in the back bay.
Environmental concerns:
The possibility of developing more cottages or adding roads through the forest to a tiny community and a small lake will be detrimental to both the forest and the life on the lake, not to mention severely change the possibility of getting youngsters out on the land.
Furthermore, to restrict neighbours access to what we call the point (the small strip of land between two bodies of water) impedes the view of the other lake and of sunsets.
We urge you to help us to preserve the beauty and protect the forest for generations to come.
