Affording a house as a young Ontarian is already a struggle, GDS's can help ensure that the homes that are being developed are good ones, and is that not worth some wait?
Municipalities are using GDS to improve health and safety in new homes, lower the energy bills of residents, reduce infrastructure costs, prevent municipal property taxes from increasing, lower demand on our energy systems, and cut emissions and Bill 17 would negatively impact municipalities’ ability to implement GDS, limiting their capacity to ensure that new development is built quickly, is energy-efficient, weather-proof, and affordable over the long term. This not only ensures that the houses we are building in a bid to end the housing crisis are of a quality that Ontarian's deserve but can also stream lime the housing process as there is a clear set of guidelines to refer to as GDS's standardize planning processes, resulting in long-term predictability that housing developers need to succeed.
The housing crisis is the struggle but cutting back on good documentation, with a trusted framework that speeds up building, and environmental standards by allocating those considerations in one place can't be the answer.
