This government is forcing Dresden and the surrounding area to have a Dump without a promised environmental assessment. It said this is necessary because we are sending too much garbage to the states. Now, this same government is proposing major changes to the blue-bin system of recycling collection that, critics say, would substantially weaken the province’s goals for diverting waste from landfills. Does Ontario need more dumps because this government is once again bowing to business interests instead of what the people of this province needs?
The people of this province need to reduce garbage going into Dumps. This government needs to stand up and either pay some of the costs of recycling or keep the course and not water down the recycling goals of this province for big business.
