The Mayor of Wasaga Beach has already tried this in his previous administration and merely used the beach for concerts while burdening the taxpayer with both the cost to police the beach and the maintenance. with many complaints about Wasaga bylaw officers being heavy handed and driving tourists off the beach with arbitrary and occasionally invented bylaws.
Neither the province nor the town gained from this arrangement and the only ones who profited were the vendors and partners who had prior relationships with the current mayor. This is a pattern of blatant nepotism that has been repeated again and again with costly redevelopment of the beachfront area.
Do not permit a repeat of this poor stewardship of a provincial asset by a council that is focussed on themselves rather than the needs of the community.
