I fully support turning these rotting buildings into homes, but we are in a housing crisis. WAY more of those units should be affordable. The city should look into partnering with supportive housing providers in Hamilton. Those homes could all be both affordable and potentially supported by a multi-disciplinary staff team, or some kind of other supportive system, which would also be extremely helpful considering we are also in the midst of an Opioid crisis and many folks in our community are experiencing significant mental health challenges.
