In Hamilton, homelessness is a crisis, housing availability is so low, rents remain high because of demand. This is one of the dumbest things. There were buildings there to begin with and the city wouldn't have closed them originally if they knew CP would pull this stunt.
If people lived there before just fine, why is this even an issue? Not to mention the legal fees and time from staff that Hamilton has incurred over this issue.
People moving in will know about the shunting yard and there are other residential areas that are closer to the tracks that function just fine.
We need help getting this resolved.
