We strenuously oppose the wholesale slaughter of the Cormorants in Ontario. There is no scientific data to justify such a rash action. Years of effort and thousands of dollars spent to help the species recover, will have been for nothing. This will likely result in the death of other ground nesters who breed in nesting colonies along side the cormorants. Clearer thinking needs to prevail.
