Transferring the land out of the Wasaga Beach provincial park and into the hands of the town of Wasaga Beach could threaten the habitats and nesting grounds of the endangered piping plover.
Increased foot traffic or development in these areas could put this endangered species at even greater risk, as outlined the first of two attached articles below.
The preservation of endangered species is an integral part of being responsible stewards of our planet and keeping our environment biodiverse. The ways that humans benefit from biodiversity are outlined in the second attached article below.
