I am totally in favour of reducing the cormorant population by any means possible. These birds were encouraged to nest in the Burlington Bay area by building nesting poles at the east end of the bay. Since then the population has exploded resulting in a mess and a bad smell. One island was demolished to reduce nesting area as the smell became intolerable. The problem remains.
Now--if we could reduce the population of Canada Geese that would also reduce mess, smell and fouling of the water, parks and other open areas.
