Beach front with dunes and wildlife are sensitive eco-systems that are important to our continued existence. Aside from the structural supports that dune plants provide, and the wildlife it sustains it also acts as barriers to industrial pollution into the surrounding water. This area was made a Provincial Park in the 1950's by visionaries. It should remain that way.
This proposal smacks of profit ahead of conservation and environmental protection. It proposes to restrict access by members of the public - because if you build on it people obviously can't use it. We have enough Marriot Hotels in Canada and while not all are under the management of the Marriot family in the United States many are. Why is the town and province eager to give land away to the US? Why do they use the excuse of building tourism for the future? Think instead of eco-tourism. It is gaining momentum all over the world. Wouldn't it be nice to claim we care about the area we call home?
