Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is a treasured public resource which should remain in the public domain. Publicly owned land on the Great Lakes, particularly on a wonderful stretch of sandy beach, is worth protecting from private ownership, which undoubtedly will remove or restrict public access to these waters, perhaps allowing only those with wealth to enjoy this beach environment. Don't take away the access for the common citizen to enjoy this treasured property. Selling out to developers is not in the public interest.
Further, the habitat of endangered piping plovers is placed at risk by more development on the Wasaga Beach beachfront. Public control and ownership of this waterfront will assist in maintaining the plover habitat in Ontario.
I believe that the proposed changes to Wasaga Beach Provincial Park are not in the interests of Ontario citizens.
