I've lived in Wasaga Beach for 25 years and have watched the Beach area of the provincial park degrade year after year. The plot across from my house, which is called a calming zone, within the park has 6 foot high weeds and is infested with ticks as a result. We can no longer access the beach by walking through it. This area used to be cut at least monthly but they just stopped. Same is true for the Park area from Spruce St to the point. Disgusting washrooms, broken boardwalks and rotting picnic tables. It's terrible. Please place these areas in the hands of our town so that we can clean up the mess and maintain it properly so that Ontarians and all visitors leave with a fond memory of a clean, well maintained Beachfront.
I understand that there will be a solid, irrevocable agreement that the Beachfront will always remain open to the public. On that promise, I 100% agree with the land transfer.
Thank You
