Wasaga Beach is so small, precious fresh water wonder in the world. Opening it up for tourism purposes will have great impact to the eco system and all residents. As it stands right now, the flood of visitors in the summer is overwhelming, with regards to garbage, inconsiderate behavior from visitors...etc, to name a few. With the current redevelopment the volume of visitors will increase. We do not know if the anticipated economic results will turn out and rush into transferring more shoreline to the Town. Too much too soon. The Town may be taking more than it can chew. Look what is happening to Banff! I don't think the residents want to see the same thing happening here at Wasaga. There is too much at stake to rush into a transfer. It is more a down load of costs and management to the Town. Ford government wants to open rural land for housing and received oppositions. Now the government is attempting to reduce the boundaries of the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and use the parkland to redevelopment which is basically increase housing and commerce using parkland. Bad idea!
