We have lived in Hamilton beautiful north end since 2018. Since 2019 this has been an eyesore. The fact it’s taken over 6 years to “negotiate” is horrific. We are in a housing crisis. An economical crisis. A tariff war and previously weathered a pandemic.
People need housing.
Houses were here before, and coincided with CN and the “Boise and pollution” once and it should be tolerated again. Put a clause in the agreement of purchase and sale of the risks, details and have the purchaser decide yes or no to proceed with the purchase. The fact that CN can “hold up” housing is asinine. Why did this take so long?
People have long lived next to factories, highways, airports, construction yards etc. this is expected in a suburban, high density city/neighbourbood.
Please proceed with the original plan with mixed use and assuring the traffic flow of new residents has been considered along with sufficient underground and or surface parking.
The residents in this neighborhood want to see this built and thriving, which is still years away after anything is finally approved.
