I was born and raised in Wasaga Beach, and I’ve watched my beautiful home town grow ugly and unfamiliar the more of the land was sold off to private developers. This is the biggest proposal to sell the most visited and famous beaches of the town to private developers who are going to destroy the natural landscape and rob the locals of autonomy. Giving the most cherished historical area of town to faceless corporations to make “profitable”, is inevitably going to push locals out, destroy the natural beauty of the beach, and only enrich faceless share holders.
Tourism in wasaga beach needs to come from more funding in the parks, NOT from the private sector.
