As someone who works in social services and sees the state of housing in Hamilton, this is absolutely needed. There are so many people that need affordable homes and need supports from places like Indwell. The state that Hamilton has gotten to makes it hard to even drive into work. It's sad. There are people sleeping on piles of garbage, walking in clothes that are soaked in urine or they are infested with body lice. These are the people that I interact with daily. They are human and they deserve somewhere to lay their head at night. If this will allow more room in the shelters and allow more wrap around supports, this needs to be done yesterday.
