The proposal to remove this land from its protected status to be part of an initiative to promote tourism is very short sighted.
Wasaga Beach is the nesting site for an endangered shorebird, the Piping Plover, which is just now, slowly, after many years, starting to return and nest there.
It’s critically important that our government pay attention to and protect habitat which is required for birds and mammals.
We are part of nature!
We must respect it and care for it.
Please do not take this action.
