Removing 60% of a provincial park (any provincial park for that matter) does not align with the Ford governments messaging of " protecting natural and cultural heritage". It is the complete opposite. This level of severing protected land will have devastating effects to the local ecosystem. Removal of unique sand dunes and unique plant and animal habitats will create irreparable damage to the local environment. Based on the map provided the Ford government is proposing to remove the part of wasaga beach pp that have the most ecological and historical importance. At the end of the day, the purpose of this proposal is to allow for more privatization of land for the financial gains of a few, while taking away enjoyment of public land from hard working ontarians!
