I am opposed to this proposal. It is anticipated that the land will be developed by the city once it is no longer protected as a provincial park. This will put local wildlife at risk including an endangered species that lives in this area.
Wasaga beach is always busy with locals and tourists. Decreasing available beach space is not likely to improve the experience for visitors. More likely, the beach front that is removed from protection will be sold to condo developers and there will be less space for the public to enjoy.
