As a relatively new resident…

As a relatively new resident to the North End community, I've gone through a fair bit of emotions over the Jamesville site.

At first, disgust. What was this gigantic, vacant, graffiti-ridden eyesore doing in the neighbourhood I hope to raise a child?

After doing some research, I was saddened. It was tough to learn about all the families that were forced to depart.

After seeing the potential plans for the Jamesville site, I got excited. In addition to cleaning up the area, the plans looked like they provide a variety of living options and would help mitigate the housing crisis.

After hearing about the dispute with CN, I have felt both confused and angered. The rationale behind CN Rail's appeal does not make sense to me (or perhaps the average citizen), no matter how hard I try to see things from their angle. I can only surmise that there are other financial reasons behind the appeal.

People's lives are at stake here. Figure something out. Let's get going.
