Hamilton is in desperate need of affordable housing in many forms (supportive, deeply-affordable, and low-priced market-rent units). There are tent encampments throughout the green space and many people living on the streets. At least as concerning, there is a substantial chunk of the population in core housing need on the verge of homelessness.

It is a shame that the CityHousing townhomes have been left vacant, their occupants evicted so many years ago while their former homes just sit there.

The housing crisis will not abate until we have built enough housing to accommodate our population and to have a healthy rental vacancy rate that leads to a balanced rental market. Build now!
