Since becoming involved with local issues regarding aggregate and water, I am compelled to comment on this ERO. 50,000 litres of water can sustain an average family of four just over six months. One family! One major aggregate producer is permitted a maximum rate of 5,910 liters per min! Per minute! 70,920 litres in one 12 hour day. 20,920 litres more than an average four person family needs in six months. I ask that rather than enabling entities to just take water with fewer questions, we should raise the bar on who can take what and why they need it. At the very least, in relation to aggregate, drastically reduce the amount of water that can be taken per minute, per hour per day. Reduce the perceived "need" e.g. hours that aggregate can run their processing and washing of aggregate.
