At a time when water resources should be protected the Ford government is giving a green light to bottled water companies. As a province we should be discouraging the use of water bottles. Many have safe sources of municipal 💧 . Think of the process. Water is removed from lakes, rivers and aquifers, transported, bottled and sold. Water is not a commodity it is a basic need and right. Those companies are making lots of money but the provinces resources are being depleted. Most of the country is in a drought. No rain means less groundwater. Also, permits should be assessed and before renewal so denial is an option. Many First Nations have water boil advisories. That issue needs a solution. Think of the future for our kids and grandkids STOP theses proposals ! Climate change poses a serious threat to water availability. The government is gambling with this vital resource.
