I write as a retired person with a disability. I am lucky enough to have a decent pension and a secure home. But I am not someone who can afford fancy vacations in foreign places. Even economy vacations pinch the budget Access to a public beach like Wasaga Beach. As someone who has represented himself as a populist, who cares about The People, Mr. Ford should understand that workers and ordinary people can't afford spas and fancy resorts. Ordinary working people need nice public places where they can spend some relaxed time with family and friends, meet neighbors and other Ontarians from different places and backgrounds in a shared public place. Restricted, private beaches are bad for communities and neighbors.
