I strongly believe that the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act should NOT be amended to remove portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. It should not be amended or altered in any way that reduces the size or protection of our provincial parks. These parks belong to the people of Ontario. They are meant for us all to enjoy. “The purpose of the Provinical Parks and Conservation Reserves Act is to PERMANENTLY protect a system of provincial parks and conservation reserves”. Permanent is written into the act for a reason: to prevent people who only care about money from destroying land in the name of profit. Please DO NOT set a precedent that will put all of our provincial parks at risk. The world is burning around us, what we don’t need is more protected land at risk. And on top of that, provincial parks are the only affordable vacation and tourism spot for so many Ontarians. Wealthy developers do not need more money, and if properties are built on the proposed Wasaga land, they will NOT be affordable housing. Please stop selling Ontario to developers!!
