A lot of thought and consideration needs to be directed to the Piping Plovers that reside and make their nests at Wasaga beach. This bird disappeared from the beach but returned again after 30 yrs. Funding needs to be continued by the Ontario Government and not the Town of Wasaga. It’s no easy feat as Birds Canada can tell you. They’ve been at it since 2018. The birds nest at multiple locations of the Wasaga beach area. It’s a scientific program that protects the birds. Please do not disregard the help this bird requires to survive and be part of our environment.
