I highly oppose this proposed bill. Wasaga Beach is one of the few remaining habitats for Piping Plovers, an endangered shore birds. In fact, based on Ontario Nature, Wasaga Beach is the most suitable breeding habitat for Piping Plovers in Ontario. This beach is crucial for the survival and conservation of these birds, and this proposed bill will practically remove current barriers to keep developments out of the beach if passed, potentially pose a negative impact on the Piping Plover habitat. It's the government's duty to preserve endangered species and biodiversity, sadly this bill is the opposite.
