I fail to see how selling off prime beachfront property from an already protected area to random investors will increase tourism in this area. I believe this will increase tourism from people wealthy enough to afford whatever luxury homes/hotels are built there. I fail to see how this decision would protect any part of the areas cultural history when it will most likely be changed beyond recognition. As ecosystems are destroyed around the world, it’s not right for the Government of Ontario to actively seek to reduce the amount of protected land we have in this province in the name of tourism and profit.

We the people, do not want investors to have their hands on our beaches. They are for the public and should remain for the public. Having public access to the beaches is a huge part of tourism in any area on the water and that should not be risked to build whatever giant buildings these investors inevitably would like to build in this area. I do not support this proposed plan and I think it is a very classist decision to sell our beaches to the highest bidder instead of just making the beachfront better for everyone to enjoy, not just the wealthy.
