Thanks for proposing a cormorant hunt. Anyone who has spent time on or near the water from the Great Lakes to Algonquin Park has seen the damage that these birds (especially in large flocks) have done to the landscape. Closer observation also highlights the amount of fish that they can eat.
As proposed, I'm hopeful that an open hunting season starts to at least control their numbers but time will tell. My concern is, will there be enough birds taken as there are less hunters year over year. If this proposal fails to work, then ongoing controlled culling must be done.
