Allenwood Beach is a cornerstone of the Wasaga / Tiny community. We cannot restrict public access to this beach. My family has owned property on Eastdale Drive 200m from the beach since the 1970s and has watched multiple generations grow up on its beautiful sandy shores. It seems unclear in this proposal if the intention is to remove public access, but this would a grave mistake. Hundreds of families gather every summer weekend to enjoy one of true gems of Georgian Bay. Please do not ruin this for private profit.
I acknowledge that Beach 1 and 2 on the Wasaga Strip need attention, and selling those beaches after decades of disrepair could make sense if done correctly. But adding Allenwood to this sale is foolish and will prioritize the profits of very few over the quality of life of many.
