One cannot continue to develop lands without consequences. These are protected lands and they should remain that way. Why protect lands in the first place if you're just going to sell them off for development?
The opposite should be happening. The developed shoreline should be sold back to be protected and restored to preserve and expand the ecosystem.
The shore birds are us. We are the land. There is no disconnect between us and nature and the longer we pretend that there is the worse off we'll all be for it.
