Very few things in life are free these days. Very few things are accessible to all/most people — but going to the beach, sitting by the water, taking in the sun, or just feeling sand on your feet is one of them. You’ve already taken Ontario Place away from people for development by outside agents (not very local economy of you, Doug) and now you want to sell off one of the few places where everyone gets to remain a kid. Why? Have you lost your ability to know what it’s like to have less than you do now? Many of us don’t have the money to fly somewhere tropical and sit on a beach anytime of the year. But most of us have one family vehicle that could drive us the few hours to the free beach in Wasaga and spend the day or weekend soaking up the sun, and fresh air. Stop worrying about your pockets and how full they are, and start thinking about people beyond your immediate money circle, who have far less than you, and depend on public places like Wasaga beach to make the most of their summer holidays.
